Volunteer at THA


The Tamil Health Association (THA) is a not-for-profit research firm dedicated to supporting the Tamil-speaking population in the Greater Toronto Area. Through our research and health promotion initiatives, we are bridging the health knowledge gap in the community.

THA has two research arms within the organization. The community research arm aims to explore health beyond conventional understanding by inspiring population specific research and expanding culturally relevant resources.

Sujani SivanantharajahFounder, Executive Director
Sujani oversees THA’s annual research projects and builds community partnerships. She is also an Opioid Public Health Officer at Public Health Agency of Canada placed at Manitoba Health, Seniors and Active Living. Sujani hopes to help the community make evidence-based health decisions through the research and break down community health barriers
Nitharsana ManoharanDirector of Research
NIthersana manages our community research projects and provides guidance for our teams of research assistants. Nitharsana is a Research Analyst at the Institute of Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES). As a Research Analyst, she provides epidemiological and biostatistics expertise to researchers and knowledge users across Ontario to help bridge the gap in the community. 
Lathika SritharanDirector of Research
Lathika leads many of THA’s corporate and community research projects with her team of research assitants. She is a Research Coordinator at the Global Strategy Lab and the Assistant Director of the Global Health Law Clinic at the University of Ottawa. Her research involves understanding health needs of immigrant populations and ways to improve access to health services.
Shinthuja Wijayasri Director of Research
Shinthuja organizes yearly THA events and ensure that we recruit the best talent to drive our research initiatives. She is currently an Epidemiologist at the the Public Health Agency of Canada with the Centre for Immunization & Respiratory Infectious Diseases. In 2014, she was awarded with the Ontario Volunteer Award by the Ministry of Citizenship & Immigration for her work with various groups. 
Narma YoganDirector of Communications
Narma leads our communication strategy for THA research projects and annual events. She is a Project Manager and a Canadian healthcare software company, where she manages projects implementing evidence based clinical tools into hospitals and long term care homes. She is a certified Project Management Professional and a subject matter expert in non-profit healthcare management.

Finance Director

We are looking for a Finance Director with knowledge of not-for-profit reporting requirements as outlined by the Canadian Revenue Agency . If you have 1-2 years of accounting experience and working knowledge of preparing and monitoring funding or grant budgets send us a message!
